Mauritius President visit Karachi University.

“I am proud to be a part of Pakistani academia, International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK). This institution is like a family to me, where I spent my academic days as a research student,” she said.

In the session, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Sharmila Farooqi, Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, Director ICCBS Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Chairman H.E.J. Foundation Aziz Latif Jamal, Chairperson Dr. Punjwani Memorial Trust Nadira Panjwani, Mauritius officials and students, and many other dignitaries were also present.
The Mauritius president said that she was going to hold a meeting with the business community of Pakistan as her country needed to have more economic ties with Pakistan.

To a query about the economy of Mauritius, she said that Mauritius had developed from a low-income, agriculturally based economy to a middle-income diversified economy with growing industrial, financial, and tourist sectors.

In the end, Prof. Atta-ur-Rahman thanked the Mauritius president, and said that this was the first time in the history of ICCBS that a foreign country’s head was visiting this institution. The visiting president and her delegation were also presented souvenirs and Ajrak of Sindh tradition.
After the session, the Mauritius president along with her delegation also paid a visit to different laboratories of the ICCBS, University of Karachi.
